Probably a really stupid question ...  But what are the thoughts as to risk in "dirty-flashing" this over CM 10.1 (7/6)?  I know full wipe and clean install is "best practice", but are the risks of being lazy and doing a dirty flash catastrophic (Bricked phone), or annoying (Instability)?  Is there a less then zero chance of it resulting in a positive ROM experience?  Resetting up all my apps as often as I'm flashing is getting really old ...

Thx.

**edit**

Went ahead and did  a "clean" install.  Does the 7/6 build posted include Vanquishkitties N38/39?  If not, is N39 a go for this ROM?

Thx.

It's does not include Vanquishkitties and yes it should be a go... I always clean install... Just to be safe.

To be clear I mean clean install the rom not the kernel. Dirty flash kernels all day long.

So far so good! very smooth, and very functional. I get a solid orange-ish LED when charging, even with screen on. In LED options, there is no option to change charging? Also, changing colors for specific apps doesn't work, I just get the white LED.

OK so you can get the LED lights to work, you just have to use the following codes:

00ff00 green

ffff00 yellow
ffooff purple
0000ff blue
ffffff white
ff0000 red

anything other than those (that i know of) and you default back to white. still can't get rid of the charge light, which seems to correspond to charge level. any way to get the LED to alternate what it flashes (eg multiple notification lights cycling?)

Honestly the best place for aokp changes is...

And the other changes are kernel related mostly.

Tested 7/6..

Issues I have experienced so far:

1. reboots (then hangs at unlocked boot loader warning, requires hard reset) when playing audio over Bluetooth (both Pandora and Google Music).. and to two Bluetooth devixes (my speakers and my car). Happens after playing for about 10 minutes.

2. Must not have done something right because flashing kitties N39 just hangs at boot loader warning. Flashed from recovery. Was that not correct?

3. Only on it for an hour, but possibly slow 4g LTE speed in location where other stock phones were not slow. Still will test more.

I am having very similar issues on Bytecode's version AOKP. With extended use yesterday, I received a call for the first time late in the evening and my phone was stuck in a frozen state. The only way I knew I was receiving a call was my bluetooth headset chiming at me. It then went to the boot logo and the only thing it would respond to was a soft battery pull. After rebooting the result was the same, when I attempted to dial my voicemail to see who called. Freeze, boot logo, battery pull to reboot. I finally went to recovery cleared cahe and davik and problem fixed. This morning i was NFC beaming a photo to my phone and same result. Freeze, boot logo, battery pull to reboot, clear cache and dalvik to run smoothly again. Then again mid text conversation. Several texts back and forth and suddenly, freeze boot logo, etc. Upon reboot the text I received just prior to freeze would be gone prior to the freeze. This happened several times before I cleared cache and dalvik and all prblems were fixed....thus far. After reading your post I'm wondering if it is bluetooth related any others having similar problems?

did a little more digging around, and appears these are rather 'known' wonky issues with 4.2.2..   per this post:

also, noticed other people reporting on xenon's stable rom:

this was my first flash since stock, so i guess i missed reading about generic issues. i guess ill do a little more reading to see if i can find a stable rom that is a little more smooth than stock.

EDIT: but thanks to the dev here (timpohladthomas) this rom seemed awesome otherwise!!
