So I'm a little lost. I've never had any trouble flashing or rooting. Now I've a problem. I did a complete fxz factory reset + data wipe on my bionic so that I could bring it to back to complete stock, and now my computer won't recognize the MTP drivers. I did install the MotorolaDeviceManager software (uninstalled and reinstalled several times). Tried different cables, different ports. FXZ'ed a couple times to just to make sure there was nothing wrong with the flash, had USB debugging enabled and disabled, tried to enter MTP mode with and without an SD card inserted, uninstalled the USB controller device from device manager - all to no avail. Every time, device manager comes up with a yellow exclamation point triangle on: Other Devices > Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller, whenever I go into MTP mode, and Windows fails to find the drivers. Mass Storage mode works fine.

What's going on here? Are there specific drivers that I can find for MTP mode? I never had any problem with MTP before, and it's required for rooting and other stuff.

Also don't forget to do reboots when installing or uninstalling drivers

Uninstalled MotorolaDeviceManager, rebooted, reinstalled it, rebooted. Computer found all drivers, but the USB Controller is still yellow:

I did manually remove that driver from Device Manager but it still is unable to find the drivers. I'm on Win7 64-bit and used this:

And in case you haven't already checked, make sure you're using a USB 2 port not USB 3 since my understanding is the Bionic doesn't play well with them.

I've checked all of this, and none of it made any difference. The only thing I can think of is that I forgot to uninstall safestrap recovery before doing an FXZ back to stock. But I don't see any trace of it, and there's no option to launch it at boot time... would this mess it up?

It shouldn't, if you did a full FXZ it over writes everything so it doesn't matter if SS was there or not.

That's what I'm talking about. That USB driver error only shows up when I switch to MTP mode. PTP and Mass Storage mode work totally fine. AP Fastboot connection also works totally fine.

Try another computer ??

Yeah, I've yet to do this. I just haven't been near a computer on which I can install the Moto Manager. I'm just trying to figure out what the issue is on my computer since it was fine a while ago. Not sure what I had recently changed.

I assume you tried a different USB port on that machine?

You also might want to check and see if USB debug mode, in the Developer options, is turned on first before switching it over to MTP mode if you haven't done so.
