Solved. A second reflash of the jb system just fixed it. If I hadn't posted this topic I wouldn't have done it again so thanks to everyone for their help. Why it didn't work the first time; who knows?

Suddenly my half year old razr won't install any stored apks. I've reflashed a whole new system, rerooted but had to force safestrap onto it from a titanium backup. No amount of wipes helps. Does anyone have any insights? Thank you.

Have you turned on allow from unknown sources in settings??

Special thanks to jonnotsomuchahilbillymind - I thought the phone was just getting old - gremlins; corruption, made more sense even after a first reflash
