Razr M, fresh out of box from asurion, running 4.1.2, i downloaded matts utility for the razr, where i successfully rooted, then unlocked, then installed cwm recovery where i made a backup, all done successfuly.  Here is where i screwed the pooch... I wiped system, factory reset, cache, dalvik, all that, then installed the Rage rom.  When it rebooted, it did as it had been doing everytime i rebooted since i unlocked it, showing a screen stating the phone had been unlocked and warning me of the dangers, informing me of all warranties being now null and void, and a moto website address about unlocked phones, only this time that is where it stays.  It wont turn off, and i can do the vol- and power/ then vol+- and power to get to options for recovery, fastboot, etc... but when i choose fastboot or any other option it just goes back to the same your bootloader has been unlocked screen... I think what i may have done is tried to install the droid razr xt912 version of rage rom accidently because i have recently had both phones.  not sure... thx in advance, you angels of android.

Try plugging into the computer.... (if you are familiar with ADB ) enter the"ADB reboot bootloader" command (without quotes) ....

When you're in the fastboot menu, press vol+ when you get to the choice you want.  Vol- to move to option, vol+ to choose option.  It sounds like you are pressing pwr and it's rebooting your phone.  If this works, go into recovery, restore your backup, or re-install Rage but make sure you mount system first.

no it wont shut completely off, and no i am not real familiar with ADB, as in i have read about it, i think once long ago used it.  but i am game to give it a go.... and for last post, unfortunately,  i am using the vol + button to select the option, i kinda wish it was just me being that dumb... (not saying i'm not, just not this time)

Nice, my family is from the Waynesville/St. Robert area.  I've also spent a few nights/afternoons at the old and new Busch.

Not sure what to tell you, then.  I'm not sure why the fastboot menu isn't working.  Try what John suggested.  If you hold just power button for 10+ secs, it should shut the phone down.

Ok.... if you choose to try ADB .... I'm assuming you are using windows..... plug your phone in via USB.... open the utility folder.... hold shift and right click in an open spot (not on a file or folder) select "open command window here" .... when the command window opens ... type ... adb reboot bootloader ... hit enter ....

Your phone should reboot into AP Fastboot :)

Scroll to AP Fastboot and click Volume Up. If that doesn't work try turning the phone off by using the alternative "freezing/battery pull simulation" method by holding Power and Volume Down, for about 10 seconds. If it doesn't cut off after 20 let go. If getting to AP Fastboot succeeds, let us know what it says about the battery and we can continue from there.

Damn, you're talking about adb. Forget what I crossed out. Which is everything I said haha. I really should pay attention more. -__-

It typically does that if there is a typo (syntax error) .... try again make sure there are no extra spaces etc between the words ..... adb reboot bootloader
