This is my nephew:

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

. He has lived with me & my parents (his grandparents) for most of his 2 year old life. For a time he lived with his step-father and mother. My parents got custody of him because he was badly abused by them. His step-father would lock him in rooms for 12 hours at a time (when he was less than 1 year old), he would scream loudly and curse at him, he wouldn't let his mother hold or feed him. His mother would smoke around him (marijuana and cigarettes), take him to random men's houses and leave him unattended. She would also drink around him, and drive with him while she was drunk. She would never watch or play with him; he accidentally injured himself badly several times because of this neglect. She also tested positive for methamphetamines, amphetamines, adderall, vyvanse, and several other drugs I can't remember.

Myself & my parents have been fighting with them in court for almost two years. They (my parents) have had temporary custody up until now. Tomorrow morning is our final court date which will decide on who gets custody. Please pray for my parents, his grandparents, to get permanent custody of him. If you don't pray, please wish us luck & keep him in your thoughts.

Thank you.

Thankful your parents got him out of there before things got serious. Yes, i know things were serious enough but from experience, things only get worse in those situations and you got him out before he was hurt.

I have three kids with an x wife that i have custody of because she was a horrible parent. At the time, she wasn't even as bad as you describe but i knew it was heading down that road.

After losing custody of our kids to me, she went out and got herself pregnant from sine drunk at a bar. 2 years later, her new "loving" boyfriend tortured her son and if it wasn't for a nosy neighbor, he would have died.

Things get out of hand and spiral down quickly with parents like that. I hope all goes well for the little one's sake.

You & your family are in my thoughts. I hope your parents get full custody, for the sake of that poor child.

Had a similar experience with my nephew & parents. They raised him because there was no one else who would. We will be praying for your family.

Hello, sorry I didn't reply sooner. I've been watching my nephew ever since we got out of court.
I really appreciate all of the prayers and words of encouragement. I was reading them on my phone & sharing them with my parents. The judge had previously ordered that the step-father have no contact with the child. My sister (the child's mother) pretended to file for legal separation, but this was all false, she is still with him & receiving a bi-weekly income from him.

Prior to this court date, my parents have had temporary custody (As I posted), my sister was allowed two unsupervised visitations per week. The judge is continuing these & the case is being moved until a later date.

This was a great victory. The child is still with us and therefore is safe, which is the only thing we want. But sadly, it's not over. Please keep my nephew in your prayers whenever you think about him, and I will post when the next date draws closer.

Once again, thank you very much for your prayers & support.

To that i say yay God!
I know this may not be the exact our final outcome you and your family desire, but as you stated this a victory. We have an awsome God who knows us and hears us.... often even when we dont know or hear Him. We will continue to pray for grace and favor over your family.
Any custody battle is hard, but especially when there is abuse.
This is a phone community, but its much more. I believe there are people hear who genuinely care and will support you with their prayers.
Please keep us updated.

Thank GOD for the out come, lets see if i can explain this the way my preacher did to me. God works on his time not ours, because he knows whats best for us although some times we think we know more more. There is a song thato is called "Four days late" look it up on youtube and it will make sense.

Wow, this is truly touching. No child deserves that no matter what. Its so wonderful that your nephew has you and your parents to help him, because unfortunately there are a lot of children out there with no one to resuce them from these kinds of situations. This community never stops amazing me. The support and encouragement everyone here provides is really rare in my opinion. My prayers and support go out to you and your family, best wishes and please keep us posted! <3
