Hi, I used to have a droid x, and would do all the ROM's and stuff all the time.  Id have a new ROM every week xD.  Anyways, Ive been trying to get my Razr M rooted, and so I tried motochopper and motofail2go.  Both failed, as I expected (I always get extremely unlucky with those rooting scripts... ) so I read somewhere that I should try fastbooting to restore my phone to stock, and then the root scripts would work flawlessly.  That said, I can't get the fastboots to work!  60bdd335df40f65e704e2639f5f839b6.png

It always fails for some reason, and I dont know why.  Any ideas? Also, is there another thing I should try for root before fastbooting?

By the way I am using the non-dev version of the phone, and it is currently on 4.1.2 jellybean.  And it is RSDLite 6.14 as you can see in my screenshot

Have you tried Matt's utility?

Some people have better luck with it.... while some have better luck using RSDlite ...

Are you on the latest update?  Is your bootloader unlocked?

If you have the latest update and you aren't unlocked, you're stuck for now.  You can't RSD back and I haven't seen FXZ files come out for the update yet.  Also, the new update is not rootable, unless you're unlocked.  If you are unlocked, re-flash a recovery, and flash a SU zip in recovery.

That sucks, but I'm sure the mad scientists are already hard at work making another exploit.

You did not get much new - only the build # is new. You need to use stock recovery. see my help post.
