Hey guys! So I still quite new here and to rooting. Right now I'm running black widow =)

Now I'm confused about this whole 4.0.4 upgrade that's coming. Will I need to put my phone back into stock to get the upgrade or what? Then afterwards, would I have to wipe everything and flash the blk widow rom again after this upgrade? ..thx any help is appreciated

If you're not on ICS Leak Black Widow, you'll need to fastboot back to stock and you can take the upgrade. Titanium Backup can save your apps and stuff and restore them after the upgrade. You WOULD need to wipe after fastbooting though.

If you ARE on ICS leak then you're going to have to wait for someone to make a way for you to upgrade since you can't fastboot.

Wouldn't he be able to use the new bspatch method to get to 4.0.4? Or does having a custom ROM prevent that somehow?

I stand corrected, that would work, you're right.

Gah TSON you're getting rusty ;) jk jk

We sort of assume that bspatch will work on the official OTA (I think that's what he's referring to, since he said "that's coming") but we won't know for sure until it drops and we test it. So really both of you are right.

The bspatch method will work to get on 206 or another leak, but we will have to wait to know if it'll work on the official OTA.

Cool thanks guys.. so I'm guessing I can revert back to stock I don't think black widow would prevent it..

Only problem left is... what is fast booting and how doing do it?

Fastbooting is putting your phone back to a previous software version. You can either use rsd and download the fastboot files, or Matt's utility version 1.5 (.173 software) or utility version 1.6 (.181softwar). The easiest is the utility tool for most.

This is one of the links and I think it's version 1.5 for software version. 173 on your phone. Will try to find the link for the newest utility tool as soon as I can for you.
