Hi,

I please need a hand with getting pdroid run on my Razr Maxx XT910.
I'm not familiar with Romcooking techniques and haven't installed any other ROM so far.

Im using Kubuntu 12,04 as my operating system and unfortunately have no Windows computer at all. Even my wife uses Ubuntu.
My phone is rooted, has busy box installed, and I made backups with OnlineNandroid(Clockworkmod) and Safestrap.
My questions are:
-Where do I get a Gingerbread ROM for my Phone to patch it with the Pdroidmanager?
-Is there an easy way to patch the ROM without having Windows installed?

Could you guys please point me into the right direction.
Many thanks in advance!

First we need the current os version. Once you move up a version there is literally no way to downgrade.

Well if your wanting to stay on gingerbread head into the RAZR legacy section. If you upgrade to ice cream sandwich or jellybean you cannot go back. Most of the installing is fine in the phone. But for the oh shit moments make sure you know how to fix a brick. Look up Matt's RAZR utility, should contain everything you need and should have a Linux version.

Well, there are plenty of ROMS out there. But how do I know I got the right one?
i.e.

Okay folks here is a link to the flashable 173 *.zip to get folks back to stock /system & preinstall folder for the 6.12.173

. It is rooted and has 4ever root done as well. It does NOT include the kernel or radios seeing as they can NOT be flashed in bootstrap.

I mean how do I know what ROM works for me? I'm sorry but I don't know what 173 means...Best would be to get one which works with my phone. I think if to built a ROM out of my existing operating system would be optimal. Or to get a stock ROM. Is there an option to get a factory(stock) ROM ?
Any detailed point would be helpful

many thanks!
