Sammy radios cannot compete

Maybe not in the Galaxy Nexus days. Not true anymore. -71dBm signal at home on my S4 compared to -89 to -95 at home on a RAZR HD.

That's shocking. Others have told me the opposite. Maybe you have had an update that improved your radios since then. How's battery life compared to maxx hd?

Read the last couple pages and you'll see. Can't really compare them due to the Maxx essentially having an extended life battery. But you will see my thoughts on it.

Yep. I have owned both devices and can honestly say that the days of Samsung's crappy radios are seriously over.

Well without sounding like too much of a salesman lol, let me just say I could seriously go on about this phone all day. It has everything you could ever want from a smartphone and then more. Some people talk about how the most of the features are "gimmicky" and that you'll never use them. I didn't think I would ever use S Voice or Air View or any of that stuff either, now I use it constantly. S Voice is amazing, Air View is extremely helpful because I cook for my family a lot. You don't want to touch your phone after you've been ripping apart raw hamburger with your bare hands. Yet you need to follow your recipe that you have up on your phone........ in comes Air View :)

The phone is badass, and seriously in my opinion (and I'm sure the opinion of a lot of others), Samsung is the route to go for phones this year. Either the S4, or the Note 3. Can't go wrong with either one.

I think its worth mentioning all Snapdragon devices include their own radios. So when you buy a Samsung device in the US (which is normally Snapdragon) you're not getting Samsung radios, you're getting Qualcomm radios.

So Samsung radios are still bad but Qualcomm's are good. Is why GNex radios suck but S4 radios are on par or better than everything else. S4 has a better chip set than the HD which explains the improvement.

Doesn't Sammy write the software that we call radios? When we say update the radios we don't mean a new chipset is installed. Couldn't moto have better radio software?

I think that since the GNex(Google coded base bands so we know that's the hardware) had terrible radio problems and the S3(Samsung's switch to Snapdragon) released a few months later had no radio problems it's mostly a hardware thing.
