ok so i've been trying to get everything off of my phones internal memory and moving it onto the EXTERNAL sd card.  i've been using solid explorer and moving everything from the INTERNAL MEMORY onto the SD card...or so i thought.  when i try to flash a rom, and go into safestrap recovery, i do not see the rom files in the EXTERNAL SD.  i see it in the INTERNAL memory?  so which one is which?  im trying to narrow down why i cant create (2) 2gb slots in safestrap recovery.

Then when you boot into safestrap to create ROM slots and flash ROMs ... it will create a file in internal.... it must stay there :) otherwise you can run into a bunch of untold issues .....

Well, if it's retarded, blame Google, not your file manager. There are some roms that differ but for the most part, that's the way Android mounts it. Your internal memory will be /sdcard and your external will be /sdcard-ext.

With solid explorer, the phone internal memory mounts as SD card and the and the SD card mounts as Internal Memory.

Kinda backwards:wacko::blink:....... I use "root explorer" ...... it calls it like it is on any device I have used it on...... no guesswork......

Can someone else confirm this? I use to use root explorer but the UI is so outdated I had to switch

Generally speaking on an XT912 the Internal memory gets linked to sdcard (usually /storage/sdcard0) and the actual sdcard gets linked to sdcard-ext (usually /storage/sdcard1). You can see that by looking at the /etc/vold.fstab file.

However with many of the ROMS such as CM and AOKP, you can switch that in Settings.

The safestrap folder is suppose to be in the internal memory right?

If internal is sdcard0 and external SD is sdcard0 the this is suppose to be correct.

Is it just me or do I have it backwards? I followed the directions on how to free up internal memory. I backed up the whole internal and copy it into my computer. Then I wiped the internal memory as directed via settings/storage/format internal memory. Then I reconnected to computer and copy the safestrap folder back into the internal memory drive that just got wiped. But it is showing it is in the external. And all the stuff I download like ROMs and stuff is in the internal?

Your file explorer has it backwards I think...... when you plug into computer, and look at it, it shows on internal storage right?...... if so leave it there..... and I would suggest using a different file explorer so the confusion will not continue.....

when i go check with the built in FILE MANAGER app in cm10, in storage/sdcard0 (which is suppose to be internal right?) i see all of my regular downloads as well.  so it is the same as Solid Explorer.  when i go into storage/sdcard1 (which is suppose to be external SD card) i see the safestrap folder as well.

So in Settings, did you switch the internal and external??? :)

When I did that at first, even though I did it, it was still confusing.....
