I just got my refurb Bionic, and luckily it only had ICS installed. I just ran the HOB installer to put 246 on the phone (thats the same as ICS if I remember correctly), if I do this correctly (seems like it is so far) will that prevent the JB OTA update? I do not want JB on this phone at all! Sorry for my noobness, first time messing with a phone other than actually just using it as is.
If HOB is installed, does it disable OTA updates?

ok you're confused on a few things.
If your Bionic already had ICS on it, there is no need to put .246 on it - .246 IS ICS.
HoB doesn't have anything to do with the OTA update.
Why wouldn't you want jellybean? It gives the Bionic many more capabilities than yours currently has.
You could, since you're on ICS (Read up on EVERYTHING first), root ICS, protect root with HoB, let the OTA install jellybean, restore root with HoB, and profit from jellybean goodness.

I have 2 Bionics, my original has JB on it and I do not like it. Phone performs worse with it, and the MAP feature of bluetooth is gone, which I want. I just picked up a refurb Bionic with ICS, and I want to prevent JB from getting on this phone. True, I am confused. I know that HOB 246 is IC, I thought installing it was also rooting the phone at the same time, which I was hoping prevented OTA updates, but when I ran a root checker it showed I was not rooted, and the JB update is there waiting for me to download, which again, I am trying to prevent. I'd also love to get rid of all the crap bloatware on this phone at the same time.

For the updater, look for something like OTA updater... as far as the other bloat, it should be named roughly close to whatever the app is named. Stay away from system files. You can also unfreeze anything you've frozen so if you freeze something and your device starts throwing errors, go back into Titanium and unfreeze it/them.
