Ok, so now with some relatively solid info coming down about the up and coming new Moto devices. Who's interested in what? Are you interested in any of them at all compared to the competition? We all love our Moto's. And now many of us have tasted freedom and feel spoiled with the unlocked bootloaders on the HD, HD Maxx and M (it was fun while it lasted). But chances are SLIM these new devices are going to be open. So, taking all the factors into consideration...which, if any, of these devices are you interested in?

Moto X. Unlocked phone... On Verizon... For $300 off contract so I can keep unlimited. So far it meets my criteria! Hardware specs matter little to me if performance doesn't suffer. The only thing I worry about is battery life... I love my battery life on my Razr Maxx. I've never been able to kill it in one day.

Not interested in any of them. Unlocked or not, Moto sucks. Sorry but it had to be said.

Does it matter why though seriously lol?

More features (software), better look, better battery life, bigger megapixel camera (and better hardware camera, i know megapixels don't matter that much).

Higher number of unlockable devices (regardless of OEM unlockable or exploit unlockable).

Spec wise, none of the phones listed above can come close the S4. Maybe in battery life for the Maxx variants but that is like comparing a stock battery vs. an extended life battery. With an extended life battery in my S4, I'm confident that none of these phones would beat it.

Moto sucks... That's a good one lol. At least there phones don't look like some plastic play toy like Samsung's do. I'll take better build quality over specs any day. I do agree Moto had a long enough time to release some better phones but we really don't know how good or bad Motos new phones are going to perform yet. Just my personal opinion.

No fighting about this. Is the android community really going to start bashing itself? Everyone has there own opinion and this phone is definitely not targeted to everyone. The Moto X has features I want in a phone AND costs $300 off contract. That last part is the only reason I'm interested. The S4 is a great phone but not affordable to people who can't/won't subsidize an upgrade. Sent from my XT912 using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk 2

No idea how anyone can claim Samsung has better battery life than Motorola. My GNEX and GS3 would die by lunch without charging, at least I can make it home after work without having to charge my HD. Only thing the S4 got going for it is that it can self destruct. Sent from my XT926 using Tapatalk 2

Battery life is a relative thing. I know people who get 2 days from their S3. I also know people who get half a day. Configuration and usage plays a big part in battery life. Those same rules apply to all mobile phone users. iPhone, android, windows, or even flip phones. All of them follow that same rule.

Wow so we can't have opinions anymore without getting talked to like that? I stated my opinion based on the fact that I have owned a RAZR, RAZR Maxx, RAZR HD, S3 and now an S4. My opinion was based off real world testing, not what a website says or a chopped and edited review video on YouTube. Real world experience, both Samsung phones out performed the Moto phones in every aspect.

Saying you would rather buy a phone for build quality rather than the hardware is just ridiculous. So you buy your phone based on looks and feel, not the overall quality of the phone itself?

I have an HD because i buy based on build quality and reliability. I'm stating my opinion also on real usage. While the S3 was a little snappier it overall sucked. It was a cheap feeling plastic toy. I went through 4 of them because of the many glitches they had. Constant SOD and horrible signal strength. And seriously saying Samsung batteries can out perfrom Motorola batteries is laughable. I would think over 95% would agree.

I just think Samsung makes cheap phones. They can have all the bells and whistles they want but I just think they are unreliable.

Ok well I know I get almost 2 days on my S4 with normal use and I was lucky to get 1 full day with the HD. I'm definitely sure that 95% would not agree with you. Agree to disagree I guess.

I agree on the S4 battery.  I get 1-1/2 x's the life out of my S4 than my HD.  As for physical "feel", I like the HD better.  Radios seem just ever so slightly better in the HD and I mean slightly.  They both have plus's and minuses .  Obviously the S4 is newer tech, so can't really compare function too much.

I personally plug my phone in every night. Always have. I've never ever cared about battery life. I have not read about the DROID ultra as far as processor, screen, camera, etc. The maxx is claimed to have the best battery of any phone out there. But again, I don't care. I've never owned a maxx, never needed it.

I will say the moto x has zero to offer me. Light on the specs on this quad core world, that's for sure. I don't care about stock gimmick software that much either. And again, TO ME (operative statement) and unlockable bootloader is the Number one factor.

Fwiw "build quality" in my mind is less about internal hardware and more about ergonomics and fit and finish. As someone who's owned both an og RAZR, a DROID x, a RAZR hd, a gnex and a GS3, the "quality" of the Samsungs had left much to be desired. They are all plastic feeling and that to me feels cheap and in turn poorly built. And I've handled the GS4,anyone who believes the GS4 is strides nicer built quality wise over the GS3 is just lying to themselves. They are pretty darn similar.

So far I have had the D1 and Bionic. They lasted long enough that they felt long in tooth at end. I've always rooted and rom'd so never felt *that* comfortable bad mouthing the phones but they've given me some frustrations.

I got my fiance the S3 and while I've had to do some research on some issues I can't say that it's been a bad phone. Usually weaker signal then mine but updates made that a non issue... Occasional wild battery drain and lately some complaints she can't turn it on but restarts have solved that too.

I'll probably get the moto x if most rumors are true and if there is one more plus added to mix tomorrow. I rearranged my finances so things are going to be tight and my next big expense will likely be a kid friendly tablet/laptop--about the price of an off contract s4 so that's off the table this time around.

To each their own, right?

I would not get any of those phones personally... I'm happy with my S3 atm.
