What is the easiest/most efficient way to keep track of apps on the phone before doing a wipe/reset so they can be re installed afterwards?

Thanks

Any of the backup apps will help with this. Titanium Backup, Rom toolbox, Go Back up... Just remember to only save and restore apps and app data, never system data

My understanding has been that use of TBU, etc are not the cleanest way to restore and that new installs are preferred if at all possible...is my understanding incorrect?

Also, when doing a factory reset those backup programs are deleted...correct?

Titanium will work fine. I have used it probably 100 times without issue.

TiBu saves files to your Sd card. A factory reset will not erase your Sd card.

They should be on the Play Store app under My Apps.

If you feel that way, if you use TiBU when you restore just do the app not app+data. Sure, you'll have to put all your passwords back in but it's basically the same as a fresh install. Get the paid version, it's worth every penny when it comes to batch restores.
