So if you try to enter recovery via the bootstrap app nothing happens?

so i power down then up, takes me to AP Fastboot flash mode (s) (flash failure)
oa.86
power down...hard reset
bootmode selection
normal recovery
boots into op sys
cant get to CWM
power down then up and tried recovery
get the triangle with ! init and the green droid....volumn down then up
boot into AP fastboot...have to power down, then it goes back into sys op
the flash failure is from a previous attemp before i put the Arctic on....cant get it off.
like i said i am new to this and got it all screwed up....when i rooted before i didnt do a backup and deleted a couple of files which is how i lost contacks...prog shuts down when tried to save a contact.....happy now cause all is workin ok ...except the calender and one other thing.....so i am good with the Arctic but wanna root it....do i got to go back to stock? of course no files for that .

OK I am just about to head into a meeting, but I will see if I can come up with an easy solution for you.

I would try the original root method again, as it should still work. That way you will at least be able to install bootstrap and get into recovery again. I may have a stock nandroid at home on my PC that I can share with you so you can flash back to stock

Install terminal from the market and check to make sure you don't have root. If it still shows the $ and not the # after typing su enter....delete super user and busy box and then try the root process again

Ya by the sounds of it you are going to have to flash back using RSD lite with an SBF..... problem is I haven't seen one for Rogers yet

If you are familiar with ROMs, you can put the su binary in the /bin and add the symlink to xbin in the updater-script. Put the busybox binary in /xbin.

Flash it.

not that familiar with roms, as i am just a noob to this haha.....allthough i will see what i can do with your comment...i probably just forgot some important step and now am just stuck with what i have....which aint bad. phone works great and got my contacts back....works smooth and fast and i am sure in the future there will be other options...i could always flash the Brazillian ROM, they have had success on Canadian phones, then i can Root it...but maybe i should just leave well enough alone for now..

want to say thanks to B_ren for all the time and effort he put into helping me .and thank you DroidTh3ory for the input.....you guys are great.....great site .

chow for now

No problem. I was actually going to recommend trying the EU files or some other ones. Let me know how it all works out. The good thing is that your phone is operational and not just a paperweight in the mean time.

so i installed the Rom from BR....bootlooped on the Motorola screen so i had to hit power and volumn buttons the screen would flash then i hit the volumn buttons only and it took me to the Android screen with the green print and i wiped cache, then booted up all is great had to config VPN and i swear internet and everything is faster...i get wicked internet at g-friends apartment when i used to time out ....so now on to Root and then to reinstall the Arctic.
