Hmmmm..... next question , had the phone recently been dropped, exposed to water, etc etc.... anything that could cause a hardware failure?....

No, not that I know of, I was using it when it first started acting up.. Does the phone have to be active for this to work? When I started having problems I switched to my back up phone so the Razr isn't active right now.

You can also try using rsdlite (included in the utility folder) ... and download the sbf file from here

.. some people have had better luck with that rather than the utility....:)

At least flashing the fxz we can look at the log if needed. I am guessing it is failing at some point. I helped a guy the other day worth the same thing. Ended up flashing several parts with fast boot individually to get the partition to take. Them a full fxz worked after that.

Remember.... to use RSDlite you will need to be in AP Fast boot mode..... just like running the utility :)

It will be a bit downloading, and my connection sucks. Is there anywhere to get instructions for RSD Lite?

RSDlite is pretty straight forward..... you install it..... then run.... it will have a place (near top center) to choose your file..... once you have chosen the file simply hit start ...... if there are any errors, it will keep a detailed log of the error(s) so we can see where it is failing :)
