can I be done? I am sorry but I do not understand the differences between say a european XT910 and a Verizon XT912 which are mainly software? i,e to say the bootloader is locked but since the bootloader has been bypassed can It be done?

As far as I know, it cannot be done because the radios are different. The boot loader bypass only allows one core to operate fully. So I do not think you would be able to get service on a GSM rom because of the different radios.
