Two of these launched today, ultra and maxx, can we get these you in the device forums, the sooner we get discussion the sooner we get root and if the hacker gods are feeling generous a boot loader unlock :)

If they aren't officially unlocked your going to be waiting forever for it to be cracked. Second root is becoming useless with SElinux, it's no longer the golden key to access everything.

if its unlockable you can flash a custom recovery, and in that recovery flash roms. going forward DEV's are going to be adding in all the required files you need to do things that used to require root

example: you use titanium backup to backup and restore all your apps, it currently requires root. teams like CM are going to be configuring their rom so titanium can backup all your apps with out root. the end result is going to be a super secure android platform, but well still have the ability to do the things we like. so as its been stated all across the internet, if you care about customization, buy a DEV edition or a phone that is legitimately unlockable (GPE S4)

Well that sux. But I still think opening up a device thread will aid in answering the unlock question cuz an unofficial unlock like we got for the RAZR HD is going to be the only hope for people who can afford dev edition devices.

I think we will have to just see how much interest we get for those devices. They have been announced for a month and just released today and you couple guys are the first to bring this up. Currently we have a lot of tumbleweeds bouncing around in areas for much more popular phones.

As for the Moto X... That phone has been heavily talked about on this site probably too much. Lol... With that and the unlocked bootloader as Soocold said, that is the reasoning behind it already having a forum.

If we get some interest then I'm sure we can find additional forum room.

As for the bootloader unlock like the HD and M, the crazy smart guy that found those exploits is currently retired. And even that find was like discovering a unicorn so nobody should get their hopes up for another one.

Step son got his today but had to go to football practice.

Skinny device--can't wait to play with it!

I officially have the slowest phone in the house. Gonna hold out til December, max.

Thank you. Honestly, Moto's software is pretty much close to stock and runs well, all I really look for is wifi tether hacks and OTA leaks and play with the occasional ROM. The general discussion forums are a great help.

Thank you for setting up the forum for us.
