FXZ are provided by FIRMWARE TEAM!

You can download them here: http://sbf.droid-dev.../obake/list.php

Please note that I don't know what is the RSD lite version requirement!

Install for fastboot :D

Thanks for getting these so quickly... already had to utilize it.

With rsdlite 6.1.5 I could not get it to see the device... but since fastboot was seeing it, I was able to fastboot the boot.img, which is all I needed at the time.  I don't know if that helps with the rsdlite version question or not (by means of deduction!)...

I have to ask, why did you need to use it already?

From My S4 Dev Edition

I was trying to pull the new apk for Touchless Controls for a dev (open1your1eyes0).  He asked if I'd tried motochopper to root the Maxx yet, and in our back and forth I misunderstood him and thought he said he had seen it work (I should've clarified...).  So I gave a couple different versions a try, and one particular version that I can't find now (it was a link on this forum - file is motochopper_1.2_HD.zip) actually pushed a boot.img and attempted to flash it... I wondered why that particular .zip was larger than the other versions... :huh

Anyway, the moment I saw it pushing boot.img I had that "uh oh" moment that seemed to last a few seconds but only took a split second before it failed and I was stuck in the bootloader/fastboot menu.  Not sure why rsdlite wouldn't see it, but fortunately all I had to do was fastboot the boot.img and it was fine.  I wonder if a different version of rsd would make a difference?

A facepalm moment for sure, but I did at least make sure an FXZ was available before attempting the motochopper files...

Ah, yes, that particular version is for those on the HD that had taken the OTA update last month and were not unlocked.  In order to gain root, they need to flash the boot img back a version, take root, then flash back the updated boot img.  Now I understand :)

why do you need 12.7.4? What the difference  between the two?

Does USB debugging need to be enabled for RSD lite to see the phone?  I've seen that mentioned elsewhere and I'm not sure if it is correct or not.

That's what I'm try to check

I've only ever used RSD in fastboot mode so I would assume the awnser would be no. Anything done in the os over ADB yes.

I've seen the 12.7.4 files somewhere, can't remember just where but they are out there somewhere.

That is what I though about RSD lite. There is some misinformation being distributed.

12.7.4 is older and not differentiated between ultra or ultra maxx... Just a guess.

Hey guys, my Droid Ultra is currently soft bricked, the two files available are out dated, they will not restore my phone back to stock after accepting the latest 12.15.15 OTA for the Ultra, If someone could upload the latest 12.15.15 so i could get my phone booted up and working that would be great. I am sorry if this comes off demanding, I just am in dire need of my phone!

Thanks in advanced for the file. I really appreciate it.

This is  EXACTLY what I did after the update soft bricked my phone and caused a boot loop.

This is an easy fix. Use RSD lite version 5.6 (at least this is exactly how I did it). Place Device in fastboot mode.

Using the .zip file you download from the above links, Extract the file, then access the xml file within the folder. Edit using Notepad, Notepad + and erase

THESE 4 LINES ----

These 2 are at the bottom:

<step operation="getvar" var="max-download-size" />
<step operation="oem" var="fb_mode_set" />

These 2 are at the bottom:
 <step operation="oem" var="config carrier vzw" />
 <step operation="oem" var="fb_mode_clear" />

Once you have removed these, save the file. THIS SAVED XML FILE IS ALL YOU WILL NEED SO PUT IT SOMEWHERE EASY TO REMEMBER.

Run Rsd lite and fastboot the xml file YOU JUST SAVED!

boom should be all good. If it doesn't help you restore your MAXX I can't help beyond that.

Thanks man... Good info. I've heard this talked about before here but I'm not sure there have been written instructions anywhere. Shoot, if it helps at least one person it's a success. Glad you got yours going.  :)

No.  Everyone's still waiting.  The guy who provides them, Skrilax_CZ, also needs them for his phone so he's highly motivated to get them posted.  LOL.
