Do you guys or well anyone for the matter think we will ever get root on the Ultra? I had to buy one yesterday (my HD broke and there was alot of hassle) But reason i'm wondering is because I like the Root only apps, I am actually in love with Google and motorola 
the UI is stock!

It looks pretty quiet on the XDA forum too. Of course the phone just came out a few days ago.

This probably a stupid question but has anyone tried to use motochopper? It worked for for the s4 so maybe it will work for this.

I would assume somebody has but it's worth a shot for you guys that have the phone. Worst case is the exploit will fail. Running it with the Utility will not hurt your phone. Who wants to be the guinea pig??

I am hearing that chances are we will not get root...I mean, Dan has retired from doing it, of I'm not mistaken... but I hear from several reputable devs etc in the community that "you will have to love it like it is"...

I'm hoping for root for this phone. Would be awesome seeing this phone is awesome as is i mean would i like a nice fully running CM or Aokp yes. But i just want root so i can use root only apps

The XT1080 the reason i bought it was because of the stock look thanks to googlerola, too bad we didn't have root access out of box

Had to manually select Motorola adb single driver. Either way, didn't work. Said failed. Rebooted, clicked the superuser app and no root

Well thanks for being brave and testing it out for us! I think we need a consolidated root bounty for all 4 new Motorola phones since they are all running the same software.
