Has anyone looked into the possibility of dissecting one of the ICS updater scripts to see if a universal updater can be created? I know there are atleast 3 different ones 79>206, 85>206, & now 206>209. I am nowhere near talented enough to even attempt this.

I'm sure we could modify the updater script, in fact, I'm sure I could do it. There happens to be a problem that we can't fix though. Unless you have the MOTO keys you won't be able to resign the zip so it doesn't matter.

Multiple problems with your theory, but the main one is that you have to sign the package and only moto can do that. We can sign them, but the bootloader checks for a specific signature. Other than that, if I am not mistaken there are no if then statements in those scripts (at least not when I looked) so there really isn't a way to say if you are running this, then do this. Plus it would be useless because the zips for them would be huge. You would have to sort things out, make sure they are referencing the right folders, gets to be a head ache. Way easier for everyone involved if there is just one for each update.
Also, if only one package is broken, you only have to fix on instead of having to rebuild the package maybe making another one break!

OK, like I said I am nowhere near talented enough to make this stuff happen. I just dream it up.
