Did you, by chance, format /system in Safestrap prior to swapping to safe mode or at any time?

You cannot do anything from the fastboot menu without being connected to your computer via USB. Did you download Matt's Utility from the earlier post?

Sounds like you just need to use the volume keys to move up down and all around. Once you're in safe menu or stock menu, those are the only keys you use really.

Its still in the midst of downloading as it is taking a very long time. Once I have it downloaded, where do I go from there?

I don't think that you need to fastboot. That will put you to stock 100% and delete all your apps. Just un-toggle safe system.

Power down the phone and reboot. There will be a safe boot menu in safestrap. Use the volume down key to highlite it and hit the power button to select. On the screen that comes up next, scroll down to yes and hit the power button. This toggles between your real system and the safe system.
If you can't use it though, these instructions are moot lol

Your phone is connected to a USB port while checking that? There is an ADB listed with a MOT composite interface? or is nothing listed at all?

Sorry bout that but please don't give up. If you're going to install safestrap again just make sure you're in safe system ENABLED when wiping and formatting. Make a backup before you do... on the UNSAFE side enabled first!

I like safestrap for the convenience of being able to move back and forth from the original to whatever custom ROM is installed. Also much easier IMO to put right whatever may get messed up in the process. Also for the ease of updating the original with an OTA if I choose.... but that's just me.
