I have the opportunity to trade my Maxx HD for an HTC one is it worth it? Only thing stopping me is battery life and ability to root and unlock the bootloader. Just interested in some of your opinions, the one looks like such an awesome phone.

I wouldn't do it for the reasons you just stated. I'd stick with the HD

is your hd unlocked? Can the HTC one's boot loader be unlocked? If so, then if you can give up the SD card, it MIGHT be worth it since you don't have the ability to unlock the bootloader. But, since you stated those are the issues stopping you, then I say don't get it.

Also, do you have unlimited data? Unless you're willing to pay full price for the phone and NOT have Verizon subsidize it, you WILL lose your unlimited data package.

exactly.. I used to have unlimited but lost it when I got my company phone, which only allows me a stinking 2gb a month...can't complain too much since its free but I like having movies and music on my phone, so the sd card and wifi are my best friends

The phone controls on that phone are horrendous. I don't know how you do it.

I have the maxx HD unlocked . I am thinking of getting the G2. It can be  rooted  and Loki'ed.   There are some roms for the Verizon version and more to come. How do you like the phone so far?\ compared to your Maxx HD?  I am month to month but I can keep my plan no upgrade fee but I am not sure  about signing a new 2 year agreement.

I've been waiting for a quadcore phone with a large battery and the G2 doesn't disappoint. Not as good as the Maxx HD but it's up there. So I can definitely recommend it.
