just got a new razr m today its running 98.16.3 after doing some reading i see i cannot unlock the bootloader. is there a way to downgrade? what roms are available to me? will there ever be a new tool to unlock the bootloader?

Unless you have a typo, .16 can be unlocked as long as it has never been updated to .18

Are you using the one from the Utility
? I would guess if you are getting an error that it has probably been updated. What's the error say?? Something about trusted zone?? If so you are out of luck

Post a screen shot of your about phone. A trust zone error, means that you currently have a newer TZ partition than what it is trying to flash and it will not allow that. You cannot downgrade.

Unless you have a typo, .16 can be unlocked as long as it has never been updated to .18
I've read in a couple of places that this is also the latest update. I can't find any solid proof, but I think there were two different update versions because of the soak test that came out prior to the newest OTA. I know MHous's newest DST ROM is based off of 98.16.3.

Will there ever be an update for unlocking the boot loader. I really hate stock. And I'm sorta stuck with it. Every ss ROM I've tried has been so laggy and has so many issues like camera not working and $#!+. :/

You can try rage ROM I know they have a safestrap version for the HD so they probly have one for the m or could make one.

There is a version of Rage for the m but its still being worked out. I am not sure if its for locked boot loaders only or not. Testers are needed though....
