I just installed the latest ICS leak yesterday and got everything set up, including Chrome. It asked me for my browser sync password, I typed it in and then it dumped me to a regular browser window. So far so good.. Except now I click my Chrome To Phone button on my PC and I never get the link on my phone. I can't find anything in settings that looks like it would help. What gives?

How do I do that? I can't find any settings that have anything to do with Chrome to Phone

On the phone, open the Chrome to Phone app, hit the menu button, go to settings and select "Disconnect Phone" . Then reconnect it.

Chrome to phone it its own app, isn't it? You should just use the desktop sync on the new tab to open a window open in your browser

Don't be confused about Chrome's built-in browser sync and Chrome to Phone. Browser sync only sync's favorites and recent tabs between various devices using the Chrome browser. Chrome to Phone will send any link from the desktop Chrome to the default browser on any & all Android devices linked to the account that have the Chrome to Phone app installed. The Android device does not have to have the Chrome broweser but it does have to have the C2P app.

Ok, yeah, I'm talking about Chrome to Phone and not tab sync. I don't want that. I could have swore an older version of Chrome Beta had Chrome to Phone built in, didn't it? And it did prompt me for my Chrome to Phone password the first time I opened it.

I don't think that was a prompt for your C2P password, but a prompt for your Google account password. The Chrome browser uses your Google account to sync tabs and such just like C2P uses it to push links.

It definitely wasn't just my regular Google password -- I know because I had to try a dozen times before I got the password right. Maybe it was a special "sync" password but I think it was Chrome to Phone. Either way, I installed the app and it's working now. I know with one of the ICS leaks, though, that I was using it without installing the separate app.

There are now 2 "official" mechanisms for this. Chrome 2 phone, which must run as a standalone app on your phone and the browser extension in Chrome, and the tab push syncing feature that is native to chrome on the desktop. The latter appears as a small icon in the address bar, and when clicked asks you which device on your account you would like to sync the tab to.

Thanks mecha, that makes more sense.. Except I can't see the tab sync icon on my desktop. Is there somewhere I need to configure it? In advanced sync settings, I have "sync everything" checked.
