Droid Razr 1-Click Root Method


Windows Method

Windows 1-Click Package ---->

Preparation for Windows Method:
1) Make sure you have installed the proper Motorola USB drivers Get them

2) Ensure that you have installed ADB Not sure? Click

3) Put phone into USB debugging mode From Home Screen: Settings..Applications..Development
4) Connect device to computer Razr should be in Mass Storage Mode

Rooting for Windows Method:
1) Complete the steps above
2) Download Moto_Razr_Root_Windows.zip from above
3) Extract to a folder on your desktop
4) Click run.bat
5) Click any key to continue root
6) Rooting will take place and device will reboot Keep plugged in until Razr finishes booting
7) Command prompt will tell you its complete when done

Mac/Linux Method

Mac/Linux ---> Needs to be tested

Mac/Linux Method:
1) open a terminal
2) navigate to the extracted directory
3) invoke the script as "./root_me_now.sh"
4) follow instructions

Is this the same method posted on Droid Life? There's was named DooMLoRD_v2_ROOT-zergRush. If not what is the difference ?

Just watched the video, and OBVIOUSLY the one posted on Droid Life is a one click and this is not.

What's your point? I'm not a fan of one clicks they take the true hacking experience out of it. That's no fun.

What's your point? I'm not a fan of one clicks they take the true hacking experience out of it. That's no fun.

I was just curious if you got the same end result, that's all. New to rooting. Thanks for the video, I'm going to give it a shot.

IMO rooting your device this way is standard. Have I used one click roots yes. Using both methods I have had less problems doing it the manual way. Plus this method is pretty easy, call it a one command root method.

Ultimaley yes the end result is the same. However this way is so much more fun.

Hmm this z4root thing is weird cause that is designed for froyo.

No z4root won't root it. As DirtyDroidX said it was designed for Froyo.
