I have a razr maxx and over the past 2 weeks, I've had serious 4g issues. Throughout the day my phone will connect to 4g for 10 seconds to a couple minutes at a time. Most of the time it only picks up 3g. I've never had these issues and don't know what caused it. I've been running the latest cm10 nightlies, but I switched over to an eclipse ROM and it still didn't help. I cleared everything there is to clear.

I've swapped my wife's sim card and still have the same problem. I also noticed my texts get delayed and MMS aren't coming through at all.

What is causing this? Any help would be great

My first thought was Sim card but if that didn't fix it your best bet is to use the Utility to flash back to out of the box stock and see if that solves it.

Sounds like LTE is not set as preferred.

Thanks, I'll use the utility tonight and see what happens. I have a strong feeling this is a hardware problem though.

Would replacing the antenna inside the phone be worth a shot?

I've opened the phone a few times before to replace the rear speaker and fix the headphone jack.. so that's not a big deal for me

Ah.... since you've opened it before then you should be ok as far as that :) .... if using the utility to "nuke and repave" doesn't solve it then yes, I would have to assume hardware as well.... unless there is some kind of network/tower issue/outage in your area .....

My next question is.. Does anyone know where the antenna is located on this phone? I can't seem to find it.

I'm not sure there is an actual separate antenna within the phone ..... I believe the chassis surrounding the main board serves as "antenna" ..... but I may be thinking of another phone..... its been a while since I've had the RAZR apart..... HD tappin' .... hillbilly style!!
