Rather than tinker with a 1% battery mod that could brick my Razr, I came across a FREE app that provides 1% battery notification in the status bar. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know that some will not like it because you'll end up with the stock battery + Battery Circle. And of course there are other apps that put battery status on individual launcher screens. But I do like having easily visible battery notification in the status bar no matter which launcher page I'm on or app that I have open. So, if it does the trick for you, fine. If it doesn't, don't use it ... just wanted to share it for those who might like to use it. Here's the info and the Market link:

Battery Circle
adrian.ulrich

"Battery Circle" displays the current battery capacity in your status bar.
- Supports both black and white statusbars (outlined font)
- For HDPI and low res devices
- 1% step support for Defy (and other Motorola phones!)
- Choice of 6 different battery themes
- Does not drain battery (receives battery broadcasts)
- Opensource (GPLv2)
- Does *not* replace existing battery icon

I've been using this app for a day and it's working very well. Just as it should. Until a de-odexed version of the ROM comes, this is pretty nice to have.

Even with the de-odexed version of the ROM (which I believe we have had for a while now), we will need a VZW Droid RAZR mod for the battery 1% instead of 10%. Keeping my fingers crossed a lovely developer makes one ;)

Also wanted to point out, there is already a thread with a W.I.P. battery 1% mod for Motorola RAZR (GSM) phones.

Thought I'd let you know, a member of TheEternityProject over at XDA made a CDMA version of the 1% battery mod for deodexed roms, tested working on nitro's apparently.

I like Battery Circle better than Battery Widget that I have been using for a while. Thanks.
