How would I go about using the update if I have DroidTh3orys Razrx ROM installed in safestrap? Do I just boot into the other system and update or what?

Your other system will remain at .744 while your original system will be .748. They both will work great

Also do we have conformation that it will update with Safestrap enabled? My write up and several others say disable Safestrap before update. Im still learning.. or does that mean just reflash your safeside afterupdate?

I've successfully rooted and held root on three phones. Mine i manually updated with a zip file, second was girlfriends, third was my replacement. HDMI port was bad didnt know it. This one i rooted, zergrushed rooted, voodoo protected, temporaly unrooted-voodoo, took update, rebooted, restored root-voodoo.

I didn't have to disable SafeStrap. It stopped working after temp unroot/update, just had to reinstall and restore system on it.

Try using the MotoRecovery forced method of the OTA using the .zip floating around. That will give you a better error message.
