I tried to search here, but came up blank. I know this issue has been discussed, is there a fix? I really like using handcent, but the blank contact photos bugs me!

try a simple restart of the phone? or maybe re-syncing your contacts?

Thats an issue with handcent not the phone or the rom you are on. Uninstall the app then reinstall it. Or if im not mistaken handcent has a show contact picture in the app settings? I have not used handcent in awhile could be wrong? Lol

I use Handcent, and my contact pics still show up after going to ICS. I had my contacts backed up with Backup Assistant and Google though ... but they still show up on mine.

seems to be a privacy issue between Google & Facebook. I was pulling contact images from Facebook and it worked prior. Here is a message I received from support at Handcent:

"Are the contact pictures from Facebook?
As it is limited by new Google system, third party softwares could not get permissions to access facebook to get data in order to protect user privacy.
We are working on this issue now, will find a solution asap."

I use Go SMS and mine aren't showing either.....very frustrating

I have the same problem, not only are FB photos not showing up but not all of my contact names are registering either. I have GMAIL, SIM, and Facebook contacts sync but no beuno! Before I had the ICS 4.0.1 update; I had stock OS and Handscent worked. I love Handscent because you can customize anything and everything to your liking! This is really pissing me off, I hope they get it fixed soon! What other text app would come close to being like Handscent? I'll give something else a try in the meantime and see if it syncs all contact information correctly. For now I'm using the stock text app which works fine, has all contacts with photos from all accounts. Only thing is that it doesn't have customize settings, lame!

Yeah, it's kind of annoying.

If only because we know there is a workaround or fix because the stock text message program works fine.

This problem has been noted in people with early release versions of ICS months ago as well.

The only thing I can think is that either Google or Facebook refuses to release the API that allows the syncing of contacts images to happen.
