Hello,

 

I am going to start, I fumbled around and read the forums until I stumbled enough to get my phone rooted. I am now struggling with trying to install new ROMs. I will continue to read until I figure it out. I downloaded cm-10.1.3-xt926,however I could not figure out how to place it on the phone or where to place it on the phone to have the update work. I do not have a SD card installed, and from what I could understand I do not need one. The command line fastboot has been a short learning curve, however I think I understand it, however when I get to just text on the the XT926 I see at the bottom failed flash. I am sure I have missed a step, and will continue to muddle though until I figure out. Anyway, thank you for the forum and the information you have here.

Now it depends on whether you are Unlocked or not. If your unlocked, you need a recovery like TWRP if youre not unlocked you will need the latest SafeStrap.

 

Glad to have ya, post questions in the 926 forum and you will get plenty of help. Just make sure to try and read first, we wont do that for you

Ok I had the same problem with my new xt926 nothing worked I tried everything suggested yet no root then I tried motochopper1_3_xt926 downloaded to my computer extracted the files ran the run.bat file still didn't woke until I added two files from my phone to the sub folder system in motochopper 1.3  make_ext4fs and mount_ext4.sh ran the run.bat file again and now my xt926 Droid RAZR Max HD is rooted here in zip form are the two files. Hope this helps I would have sent the whole program with my changes but it was yo big 14.2megs can only upload 8megs.
