If I understand things correctly from my dealings with other phones, an unlocked boot loader means I can flash an ICS rom on my HD phone, correct? Not that I want to (well, maybe for nostalgia sakes).

If you are rooted, unlocked, and have a custom recovery installed you should be able to flash any ROM compatible with your device.

That's what I thought. Again, not like I WANT to go back to ICS, but just curious. Sometimes, I get flash withdrawal, so sometimes I like to just see what it's like to run a different ROM.

In theory you "could" probably flash an ICS rom but the issue here would be the Kernel. Since ICS roms were built for SS prior to BL unlock they would not include the ICS kernel. You would technically have to flash stock ICS then flash the rom in SS. I'm just thinking out load here... Even then it may or may not work. Obviously your best bet is newer roms.

Wait... did the HD even have ICS?? can't remember if it was released with JB or not.
