This feature worked when i had carbon rom installed but alas, could not text mms and a few other non workable features so installed cyanogenmod 10.1.3.  Now my text works great, no problems at all but i loved the way my carbon rom would show on lock screen the actual text message or email and i would just hold down on screen and the message would appear.  Hope this makes sense and someone maybe able to tell me how to add this feature, if possible, to my new rom.
