os battery drain

ive had the droid maxx for several months... the past week the battery has  been draining very fast, and i checked and the android OS used as much battery as the screen, has anyone experienced this?

I've had that on my X. I cleared the data in the Google settings app and turned off app location in Google settings been much better since. I've had to do it periodically.

How do I find both of those? I reset the phone and still the os is chewing up battery

I actually use battery doctor myself from the play store. It checks settings and optimizes them. I turned off Moto Assist and all of the automated programs I could. It's been spotty on me before, battery doctor has helped though.

apparently droid zap sucks up battery like nothing else. Root, get greenify and its donate, and use it to turn off a bunch of extra stuff. For instance, facebook in the background sucks battery life big time.

I have already disabled ZAP, Moto Assist, disabled location, but still Android OS is the fatty boy drinking most of the juice... I will try to clear app data of Settings app and report here...
