I have done this on other forums and it has been pointless and fun lol.

Think of it as the Dear Abby for Android users. Want my advice or opinion? Just wanna ask me a silly question?

This is just for fun so if you follow my advice and get in trouble thats on you lol...

I may not know the right way, nor the easiest, but I will always find a way.

Well my friend no matter how simple it may be every question is a quest for knowledge or understanding and there for there is no such thing as a stupid question.

Cassdroid,

First time caller, long time listener, my question is two-fold, given that ICS is rumored to be the first OS that has no bloatware or customized UIs (Touchwhiz, Motoblur, sense, etc) how do you think carriers will brand their phones OS wise, and how will companies like HTC and Samsung strive to distinguish themselves GUI wise.

I'll take this one Cassy. Actually ICS isn't going to be the first OS to be released without Manufacturer Overlays. The Original Droid and all previous Nexus Devices were released and never update with Manufacturer Overlays, They were true AOSP Devices. And I would be shocked personally if the Manufacturers didn't put their proprietary overlays on on most devices they release unfourtunatley. I prefer AOSP myself.

As yes I forgot about those. I even had the original droid. I've just read that ICS will be bloat free (rumored of course) and that HTC would be pushing ICS to their flagship phones without Sense. Given that they, other manufacturers and Google came to agreement about timely updates if I remember correctly. It could very well be wishful thinking too ;) I do have to say that while I prefer the quickness of AOSP, Sense has some pretty snazzy features :)

To be honest I would love to one click cus im a wuss but i have almost always gone the long way because people llike you will pick on me if i dont.. one click roots are nice at times like when i have to sbf my phone twice in a day lol.
but i also feel that making rooting too easy may encourage people who have less knowledge then they should to root.. I think its more noble to root the long way but as long as you read up and get to know your $#!+ who cares.

Cassy I wouldn't pick on you. And I agree one clicks have their place I don't flash anything unless I manually root it first. Read and do your homework has always been my Moto. It will save you a lot of trouble in the long run.

I've done the long click and 1-click methods and I have to say while the 1-click method is easier, it usually takes me a bunch of clicks to get the 1-click method working...

It does and I've found apps that mimic these pretty well however, the one app that I have yet to find that would be useful is the People Widget. I like my favorite one touch contacts right there. Probably not an issue if I were to stop being lazy and set up my speed dial.

I have heard that.
I have only used 1 click on my D2G and it has been flawless though.
