hey there. ive rooted my droid razr. i ran root checker and comfirmed that its rooted. ran clockwork mod. it will not create a custom recovery. in fact the selection isnt there. it says "recovery setup" i click and select my device. then it asks if i have a recovery file already installed i say no, then it says there id no recovery file availably for my device. so i switched to safe strap. version 3.6.

installed and ran and it says "recovery state: not rooted" and safe system not active.

WTF?!?

help please

You cannot run CWM on the XT912.  Safestrap will work, but root must be in place.  Have you tested root again after the failed CMW?  You may have lost it there.  Also be sure to update binaries as sometimes root checkers may show root, but it may not be sufficient for all root apps.

Remove safestrap, roboot and reinstall.  Something didn't take.

Did you ever find a fix for this? I'm in the same pickle. I installed Safestrap and tried to install SS recovery and it tells me installation complete but the "recovery state" says it's "not installed". I downloaded busybox, installed that and tried installing the SS Recovery again and still...nothing. I then uninstalled SS, rebooted, reinstalled SS and I still get the same thing. I used SS Option 4 from the JB Utility. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

All is working fine now. After chatting with cmh714 for a while last night, we (or rather HE) came to the conclusion that there was a glitch somewhere when I downloaded the utility and decided that it would be best to start fresh. So I did. But I had to make an adjustment to the JB Utility (don't sue me mattlgroff).

1. I downloaded the lastest version of Safestrap 3.65 from http://goo.im/devs/H...targa/safestrap and replaced the one in the utility with it. (**NOTE: BEFORE YOU REPLACE SS, ENSURE YOU RENAME SS 3.65 TO THE WAY IT'S NAMED IN THE UTILITY SO YOU WON'T BE EDITING THE ACTUAL UTILITY ITSELF.)

2. I started fresh with the JB Utility using Option 1.

3. Then used Option 3 to root.

4. Finally, I booted up and used Option 4 to install (the latest version of) Safestrap.

Thanks cmh714 for all the help and assistance last night.
