I hadn't seen a post that said for sure the xt926 would be getting the update so I thought I would throw it out there. Found out on droid life and confirmed it here --->

By the way samurai, i was able to get a replacement phone so I'm back up and running happily.

Not sure I want it. 4.4 on my Nexus 7 broken Flash video, so no streaming of Amazon Instant Video. Others reported issues streaming NBA games as well. I guess they updated the web engine to Chromium and the latest version doesn't work with Flash.

I wish Amazon would get off their duffs and release an instant video client for Android devices that didn't require flash. They really need to get the ball rolling.

There are methods available to upgrade to 4.4 and keep the ability to downgrade.  ;)

Okay, showing my n00bs here: I'm locked but rooted on 9.18.79 with 4.1.2. When 4.4 comes out, how do I keep root?

I've never done it but a lot of people have good luck with voodoo root keeper. Its ala ways best to let someone in the forums try first :-)

I would not trust Voodoo.  It's not been updated in a while and things have changed in 4.3->4.4.  I would honestly purchase SuperSU Pro.  It has a method for preserving root and supposedly has been updated for 4.3->4.4 updates.

Wow, at $2.49 that's a heckuva deal.  I noticed it mentions like you said 4.3 -> 4.4, but what about 4.1.2 -> 4.4? And wouldn't it be cool if someone figured how to unlock the bootloader at that point (though I know it's not likely)?
