I don't know how you can be happy with the Buggy 4.4 Roms that are out there right now, when I bought my phone I bought it and wanted it to perform at 100% on every feature or task its supposed to do, or else I would put a Handicapped sticker on it's case.
99% of the 4.4 ROMs out right now are bug free, have far better battery life than stock, and are quicker than stock. I switched between Slim and OSE and had no problems with either.

I just wonder if any new development will continue with the new kernel once it's released? Considering how old this phone is, I'm not sure how much more effort would be put into it. Hopefully, people will continue to support it.

Once mine gets here I will definitely be working on stuff for it and I know most other Teams/Devs will continue to do so.

Hmm, sorry I thought this was the official release, guess I misunderstood what OTA meant I'm the average phone user, not one with unlocked boot loader or root.

The Soak and the Push versions are the same unless they have to go back and change something. Since the push started right after the soak, then it's safe to assume they are one in the same.

So I'm looking for FXZ?

OTA means sent Over The Air to the general population. If you somehow thought the update pushed "OTA" was different from the soak, then that's incorrect. The soak is a test to make sure the OTA is going to work with a smaller subset of people whom they can get feedback from.

Ok, thanks for the insight guys. I was just reading this updated post and trying to see if this download is for the final release.

"In order to sideload the update, you must first be running stock, unrooted, and official firmware and be on custom recovery."
This is what they state on XDA about the update they post. With the last part saying must be on custom recovery, does that in turn mean must have an unlocked boot loader? Sorry for what is probably trivial questions for you guys...

I know the update is getting pushed to everyone now, just wanted to understand this.

The name of the file is different too. It's Blur_Version.9.30.1.XT926.Verizon.en.US.zip

That's a typo. You can't be on custom recovery in order to install an OTA update.
