The free WiFi won't work it says excellent signal but the WiFi indicator is white should be blue. My WiFi with a secured PW works just fine its the free WiFi at my college or any businesses that offer free WiFi won't work. Has anyone had this problem? How can I fix it?

Some free hotspots will require a login prior to being "fully connected"..... Also they (the owners of the hotspot) can if they choose.... block connections from mobile devices

No my college has free wifi or Guest WiFi doesn't require a password at all my friend has Sprint it hook right up. Like I said before it says it connected with excellent signal but WiFi indicator is white suppose to be blue. Try the internet it says no connection.

Verizon has no control as to what WiFi hotspots you can connect to....

I tried what u said to do but nothing came up like that. My WiFi menu says great signal and connected but it won't work. All I have to do is when the open WiFi comes up I hit connect then it says it working.. But for some reason it not connected when trying to use internet.

It is the owner of the hotspot who is in 100% control of who connects and who does not connect to the hotspot.......... you need to talk to the administrator of the network.....

The network could be using the IEEE 802.11ac standard, which the ultra/maxx does not support.

If you are running Kit Kat the Wifi indicator stays white....doesn't turn blue any more!
