Hopefully, you're asking about getting into fastboot mode.

I can't remember the exact key combo to get straight to fastboot, so I always use the three button method.  If your phone is powered on, hold the pwr button and both volume buttons until the phone powers off.  As soon as the phone powers off, you'll see a line flash across the top of your screen.  At this point, quickly release and the re-press the pwr button, while still holding the volume buttons.  Hold all three buttons until you get into the recovery menu.  Scroll down to the fastboot option with vol- key, then press vol+ to enter that option.  Make sure you do this quickly, otherwise the phone will reboot itself.  Once you're in fastboot screen, flash away.

If your phone is powered off, just hold all three buttons until you get it to boot into the recovery menu.  The you select fastboot with the same method described above.
