Beta 2 cleared up the lagging problems I was having with swype. Glad the dark mode has been ported. Still having adaptive brightness problems on resume from sleep occasionally. It will get stuck on the darkest setting and not get any brighter until I turn the screen on and off.

Trying this rom again now beta 2 is out. Having two problems though: 1. Icons way to small for my aging eyes and 2. 3D Weather widget is all bunched together. I have used this widget for couple years now and this is first rom I have had a problem with.

I haven't flashed the 4.4 version yet, but if it's like the others just change the lcd density in settings. It's a 5 or 6 step process that is explained by the device along the way. Because it's a port some things will be a bit off.

After flashing this I soon realized I was wrong about changing LCD density through settings as was available on previous versions. Still in Beta so probably just not added in yet. I tried several different things, including 3 apps I trust and all caused brick or bootloop to find a solution. Here are 3 options to those looking for a solution:

1. Change the source code and recompile. This probably only applies to Somber, Tim and Me......Not it.....

2. If you have no computer skills and no interest in learning any you can download another launcher (like Apex) and that will give you functionality to increase Icon sie, set layout, etc. The downside is the LCD density will stiil be off in the apps, nav bar, etc.

3. This is the best option - update the build prop and reflash.

Here is a quick, easy guide:

Assuming you are on windows-

1. Make sure you have a program to handle zips - I use WInrar, but a lot of devs us 7zip which is free

2. Download Notepad ++ - trust me if you are on windows this will save you a ton of headaches

3. Double click the zip

4. Double click system

5. Double click build.prop and open with notepad ++

6. Go to line 123 and change the density to 240 (default for the device). It should look like this - "ro.sf.lcd_density=240"

7. Save file

8. Click "yes I want to update zip"

9. Reflash - theoritically there is no need to wipe data if you are just reflashing from slim, but I would recommend a complete wipe. TiBu is a lifesaver......

Rom Toolbox has a build.prop editor built in. Very easy to change the dpi setting. I know the Pro version has it. I think free version does too.

Have you enabled root in developer settings. Slim default is always off :)

They have an "on the fly" dpi app coming soon. I've tested it much easier process. I'm not gonna add it though. due to respect of the slim devs

Should we be expecting any more updates on this? I really loved this ROM.

somber did me a big favor by making an xt907 platform specific manifest available on github. SlimKat 2.6 RC2 is working great on my razr m and the devs have apparently ironed out the bugs that were affecting the moto family the last few releases. I don't want to hijack his thread with my personal build, but I thought I would share my experience on the newest weekly.

Edit: Alright he gave me the go ahead to share.
