I recently added my new Droid Maxx to my play account and trying to use play music I get a notification that only up to 10 devices are allowed per account and I need to delete one to use the music services. I only have three devices showing in my device list and they are the only three that have ever been on the account. I have tried clearing data/cache for the app to no avail. I e-mailed a report to google but I figured someone here may have had this happen and know the fix.

I've had this happen before, it seems like every ROM I flashed showed up as a new device, even though it was the same phone. I just followed the link it gives, logged on and deleted all the phones listed. Went back to the app, all was good. I may have cleared app data, its been a while. Good luck

OK I got it! I uninstalled "updates to system app" in the play store for Play Music. I opened Music and got the message again but this time it linked me to my device page and sure enough there were "devices" showing up from back when I had my OG Droid and was flashing ROMs like a fiend. I deleted all of the "devices" from 2011 and now I'm in!

Thanks for the suggestion Neckchop!

Hey just noticed you are in AC! I'm just the other side of Vineland in Pittsgrove.

No kidding? Small world dude. Haha. I'm probably only here for another few months, then headed way out into the northwest. Looking forward to the change of scenery! Glad you got your issue figured out. It happens to me every once in a while, crackflashing adds up over time haha
