My upload was bad. Sorry about that. Grab the one from sbf and you should be golden. I will fix mine later today.

I hate to be a bother, but do I need the factory adapter, the programming cable, or both?
Thanks

Either or. The adapters are great cause you just stick it on the end of your oem cable and call it good. When testing my programs with my Bionic I use an adapter.

You're going to lose root regardless since you're going to have to flash an FXZ to fix it. Just root it again after you get the phone back up and running.

Thread for context. I also changed it up for the Moto phones so that it can be integrated into the House of Moto, as well, so you can use this version:

Will this unlock my bootloader or is it for locked only? Also, I never took the last update for my xt907. I'm still on 4.2.1. So I suppose when I get the factory adapter, my phone will probably be updated, right? So will I still be able to root with these links?

I would upgrade to the latest version of 4.1.2 when you fix your phone. Unlocking the bootloader is not ever going to happen, so, forget about that. The root method I linked to will work on any of the 4.1.2 versions that are currently out, including the latest one. So taking the latest update, you will be able to achieve root quite easily using that tool.

Well the sbf worked. But now I have a low battery. I asked someone about a data cable previously, because I knew I needed something. However, I inquired about the wrong thing. I guess I need a different kind of cable.
