My upload was bad. Sorry about that. Grab the one from sbf and you should be golden. I will fix mine later today.

I hate to be a bother, but do I need the factory adapter, the programming cable, or both?
Thanks

Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk

Either or.  The adapters are great cause you just stick it on the end of your oem cable and call it good.  When testing my programs with my Bionic I use an adapter.

I forgot to move the files to the root folder. Do you think I lost root then, even though the fastboot wasn't successful? It only got as far as restarting my phone and was stuck on the boot screen with the droid eye (or whatever it is).

You're going to lose root regardless since you're going to have to flash an FXZ to fix it.  Just root it again after you get the phone back up and running.

Can you please direct me to the current root method? Because I thought my days of rooting my Razor M were over. My bootloader is locked.

Thanks so much! As soon as I get my factory adapter I will follow through. I will make a donation soon, since I don't have much tech advise to contribute. :-)

Will this unlock my bootloader or is it for locked only? Also, I never took the last update for my xt907. I'm still on 4.2.1. So I suppose when I get the factory adapter, my phone will probably be updated, right? So will I still be able to root with these links?

I would upgrade to the latest version of 4.1.2 when you fix your phone.  Unlocking the bootloader is not ever going to happen, so, forget about that.  The root method I linked to will work on any of the 4.1.2 versions that are currently out, including the latest one.  So taking the latest update, you will be able to achieve root quite easily using that tool.

Well the sbf worked. But now I have a low battery. I asked someone about a data cable previously, because I knew I needed something. However, I inquired about the wrong thing. I guess I need a different kind of cable.

I used the factory adapter. Everything seemed to work fine, but I am still stuck on the boot screen. I saw a few errors pop up:

1) sending partition (32 KB)
"FAILED (command write failed (Invalid argument))"

2) sending sb1 1 (100 KB)
"FAILED (command write failed Invalid argument)

3) Preflash validation failed
(Remote failure)

4) error: cannot load 'system . img.ext4'

* I don't know how to copy all the results. I try Select All and Paste but it only copies the instructions.

I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. As far as the process goes, maybe I'm confused about "at the root of the files and not a sub folder". I highlight all inside the FXZ zip and extract to FXZ_xt907. But I never see an actual root folder.

I also never see HouseOfMotoFXZ_xt907boot.img (or the wrong one with .xml)
