So I searched google for how to unlock droid razr bootloader because I've been seeing people talking about custom kernels and other things that are required with an unlocked bootloader and I found this :

I realize that it is dated April 15 but would doing this give an advantage to flashing roms and such? If it will allow me to flash custom kernels and such I think it would be definitely worth it, but if it won't really allow me to do much and would just cause a hassle to find the stock kernels to flash certain roms, although I don't really understand how that all works. Or is there a way to unlock the bootloader now for the droid razr that I just haven't seemed to find? Thanks for the response :)

You can't unlock the bootloader. Hashcode has the kexec kernel running on the razr now but still needs work.

Right, I noticed on Twitter that DHacker had a 912 up and running on both cores with the kexec kernel running. So....we are on the cusp people.

Hashcode has been working on it for a couple weeks now, but he started with a D3. Now that it is working well enough, DHacker has joined him in getting it to work well enough for a release for the RAZR. Hashcode supports the D3, D4, Bionic, and RAZR, so those devices will all benefit from his work.

He also supports the Nook Color, Nook Tablet, Kindle Fire, and a dozen other devices indirectly by debugging and being one of the go to advisors when other devs have run into a wall. Hashcode and DHacker are the kings of making trailblazing development in areas few others would even be willing to take on. Then there is always Cyanogen working as the head and founder of CyanogenMod driving forward the development of the base codes. Depending on which device we are each most familiar with, I'm sure most people that know much about dev work have a list of 5 or more names that they have endless thanks for because they know the Android community is only as amazing today as it is thanks to them.

Wow, how long has he been in the game doing all this? I'd like to pick his brain just to grasp the concept of what all gets put into doing what he does.
