I was wondering if what everyones thoughts would be on a moto x rom based off of stock. I love having the extra features found on cyanogenmod, aokp, beanstalk, and the likes, but I cannot get past stock Active Display and Touchless Controls. (I also want motorola connect it sounds amazing, I haven't had the chance to test it though.)

Basically what I am asking is this. I have only ever built Cyanogenmod from source which limits my knowledge in ROM Building. Does Moto have the source out to public for people to build stock with modifications? Please let me know if this sounds feasible, as I would be purchasing the dev edition ASAP and starting building.

Thanks in advance for any help I can get, I love the stock features of the X, now I just want to add a few tweaks!

Yes and no. Moto has kept a lot of things "close" to stock Android but at the same time they add their touch and changes "Moto blur". Up until recently,Moto kept their source locked down but with the X and (I believe) G, they are providing it.However..it's not like source builds as there isn't a Git-based repo so AFAIK, nobody has tried to build it or rip into it much. Don't quote me as I have been away from Moto since the S4 launch and have only been following bits and pieces about Moto.I am more interested in this myself now that I have ordered a Dev X.

Now,I honestly don't know just how much good having their source is nor do I know if anything from CM/AOKP etc. can be hardcoded but I have been following the development of Xposed/Gravity Box,ex..and those additions have been successful at adding some features that could be found in the aforementioned distros.

Thank you for letting me know. A Dev x will not be in my future then. Maybe their next series will come with source to active not's and touchless. Thanks for letting me know
