Hello all,

I have Rom Toolbox Pro (paid) and I have been trying to get BootAnimations to display correctly on my phone. If I choose any boot animation besides stock, it displays really small at boot-up (just about the screen size of the OG Droid, strangely). Rom Toolbox Pro has the option to resize and if I resize it to 540X960 or whatever stock is, it will reset to like 480x800 every single time after boot.

I have tried on stock ICS OTA and Simplex rom.

JRummy doesn't have any ideas and I've tried dang near everything. My LCD Density is stock 240.

Any ideas?

If you want to know how to do it manually, without rom toolbox, it's actually pretty easy to do. All you need is an app like root explorer or Es file explorer and about 10 minutes of patience and you can very easily run what ever boot ani you want.

If you have tell me what boot ani you want, I could walk you through it if you care to do it manually.

Does anyone know, or can point me to, how to get a boot animation in a theme so it will work when the theme is flashed. I have tried to place it: system/media/bootanimation.zip however when I flash the theme, the Rom's bootanimation comes up. I am using BlackWidowICS Rom:

Hang on kids, I didn't realize how many people needed those directions. Lemme check my mailbox. I'm sure I still have em.

Ok, if using Rom Toolbox, pick the boot animation you like and click "download" but don't hit apply.

Then head over to ES File Explorer or Root Explorer and browse to /system/media. In this folder you will find "bootanimation.zip". Long press it and rename it to "bootanimation.zip.bak". Next browse to /sdcard/romtoolbox/boot_animations/ and you will see the file you just downloaded. Long press on it, and rename it to "bootanimation.zip" (don't put the .zip extension, it's should be there).

Now long press on the new boot animation and either move it or copy/paste it to /system/media. Ensure permissions are rw-r--r--. Back out of ES file or root explorer and reboot. You're new boot animation will be there.

Now, if you download a boot animation on here, all you need to do is make sure it's titled "bootanimation.zip" and drop it on your SD card. Then, same process. Rename stock boot animation in /system/media to "bootanimation.zip.bak" Find it on /sdcard/ and move or copy/paste it to /system/media, ensure permissions are rw-r--r-- and reboot.

You're done. Unless you're savy with ADB, this is the easiest way to do it. If anyone wants to know how to do it in ADB, lemme know.
