Hey guys,

Sorry if this belongs in the Accessories forum, I wasn't quite sure which one was a better fix.

Anyways, does anyone know of a stylus that will work with the Razr? Preferably with a very fine tip.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the tips guys.

How do they work? I was under the impression (because some guy at BB told me) that they have to send a signal to the device so it would work. Is that correct?

It doesn't have a fine tip but works extremely well and I have to have a ink pen all the time for my job. But I use the Kensington brand stylus/pen

The screens work by sending a small amount of current through your finger, and detecting the areas and levels of energy change (from your finger creating contact points). Anything that can conduct electricity works. No special signal is sent. You can open a pack of frozen sausages if you wanted, and they would work. Generally "Dagi" seems to be considered the best brand of stylus, but in the limited random testing I've done I have yet to find a capacitive (type of touch screen) stylus that does not work well on the Razr.

Not saying your wrong snives but not completely correct the stylus I use in the previous pic has a rubber tip. Rubber does not conduct electricity. I have no clue how the touch screen works but that stylus works flawlessly

Well a little research on my end cleared everything right up. Snives is completely right, that's exactly how capacative touch screens work.

The confusion on my end was from some idiot at Best Buy telling me that most styluses were made specifically for a device and sent a signal to said device right before it touches the screen. I hate it when someone gives you information when they do not know what they are talking about, especially someone who is controlling a potential purchase.

The static foil that electronics are shipped in will work as a stylus as well because it creates it's own field.

Got one for $ 10 at Best Buy that works perfectly, also has a pen on the back end. I guess because of the way the touchscreen works the tip can only be so small, got the finest one I could find. About the diameter of a brand new crayon tip.

Thanks all.
