As topic says, has anyone gotten these random texts from an unknown sender with unreadable text? If so, what caused it and how to stop them?

They are tests of the new emergency warning messaging system. You can't stop them, but I'd you have a rom with the "Emergency" app, that will read them.

I'm no expert but I'm assuming these were designed for a stock system with this emergency app built in. So maybe a ROM w/o the app just shows it as jibberish.

Just a guess.

Sounds like the zombies have acquired cell phones. That's phase 2...

I get these too! In fact, I received exactly the same gibberish text as you did yesterday. I was going to post about it, but you beat me to it. I also get gibberish texts from "Anonymous" on the same days I get them from "Unknown Sender."

I was getting spam texts from Walmart and others, and I went to the Verizon website to turn on internet spam blocking. Could that be related somehow?
