We've decided here at DroidRzr to include the Raspberry Pi to our list of devices we tinker with. With the ever growing trend of locked down consumer android devices, many people are looking for lower cost devices to modify to their liking.

I present to you the Raspberry Pi

Here is a pretty through guide to all things about the Raspberry Pi Itself. As for what you can do with one? Well, thats damn near limitless.

I am soooo excited to try on of these out. If I don't win one, I will probably buy one... Ill have to convince my husband, but that shouldn't be too hard...   :)

I figure for 40 bucks it shouldnt break the bank :)

I am probably going to grab one too. I saw some Music Server projects and I have a lot of High-Definition Music files.

I would look into this card. I haven't gotten one but it sounds like the most versatile option for High end audio. You would have to keep case design in mind as not many allow for add on cards.

They are on back order not sure of all the places selling them. MCM is great but shipping could be cheaper.

Maybe one of these cases will help seal the deal.

After everything is said and done, you will end up paying around closer to 75 dollars for everything you need. You have to purchase the PI, at least an 8GB SD Card, power cord, case, wifi dongle (if you want, my preference for internet access), HDMI cable (if you dont have an extra one), and keyboard (again if you don't have one laying around, I purchased a mini wireless USB qwery keyboard). I purchased mine on Amazon with most of the items in an package deal then just added the few things I needed.

I happened to log into Tapatalk tonight, and was pleasantly surprised to see RPi threads throughout the DroidRZR feed! I have one (model B ) that's been collecting dust for a couple of months due to difficulties getting it set up correctly. I'm REALLY looking forward to delving into this forum as soon as I'm off work. Thanks to the person(s) who had the idea. Sent from my XT912 using Tapatalk

Good to see you again man... We're hoping our Pi section can really break out and be a great resource for development...

I'm getting ready for my slice of Pi.

My Pi should be here by Saturday at the latest.

I also got a great deal on a 21.5 inch HD Monitor: http://www.amazon.co...0?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and a wireless keyboard and mouse: http://www.amazon.co...1?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Best of all I got lucky and these cost me a grand total of, get this, $77.01 shipped to my front door 2 day delivery.

My "Home Office" is going to look crowded.

I have one stand with my first computer, an Acer Acros if I remember correctly running Windows 98 SE and a 13" crt svga monitor.

My second computer affectionally known as "Tank", a Dell Dimension 4500 running Windows XP with a 19" (weighs a Ton!) crt svga montor.

My main desk is an L-shape with 2 - 4 feet end sections and a 90 degree curved center section holding my programming books and my Asus TF201 and Motorola Razr XT912.

A 600 watt Kenwood Entertainment center with 7 speakers (2 Center Speakers run in series) and a 10" Sub Woofer hooked up to my

Lenovo H330 series CPU running Windows 7 Home Premium Edition and a 23" Hanspree Widescreen Monitor with my old Lexmark X1150 Scanner, copier, fax and printer combo. Whew!

I may need a shoe horn to get my new monitor and keyboard on it but the RPi shouldn't be a problem, I could put it in my shirt pocket!

Maybe when I get it all set up I can post some pictures, it should look pretty interesting.....

Woohooo!! Got confimation that my monitor and keyboard were delivered at home today. (That was overnight delivery instead of 2nd day! Got lucky)

I just checked and my piece of Raspberry Pi is in the oven (Mailbox that is!).

Come on 4:00pm EST so I can go home and play.

Good thing I cleaned up my mess last night in my "Office" so I have somewhere to put it.

Hmm, my Pi was delivered today. My 2nd day shipment from Amazon made it overnight.

Here I come!
