Am i right in thinking that the razr maxx will be identical to the razr (minus the ginormouse battery), locked bootloader and all?

From what I read the only difference in the razr and razr Max is the battery really.

yep the Maxx will have a 3,300 mAh battery and therefore be a little thicker at 8.9mm..... but everything else is the same

I'm so damn pissed about that thing. I bought my Razr less than a month ago, then they come out with the same exact thing but with a better battery? AND lower the price?

:-D :-D

I wonder if we will see someone producing backplates and batteries to convert a Razr to a Razr Maxx, I would snap one up in a heartbeat.

:-D :-D

has some pics up. Looks identical except it seems the hump is gone on the back as the whole back seems flush with that huge battery in there.

They could make an extended battery and case back now if they wanted, only thing holding it in is the two terminal torx screws and some sticky stuff.

Agreed! That was my initial concern.
If they would have focused on performance and not (the thinnest android around) we wouldn't be in this mess! Digressing though, i am happy with my current battery life. Although if you purchased in the weeks leading up till Christmas you have till the 15 of jan to return... who wants to bet the max comes out on the 16 lol

FREE VZW MSG-DO NOT REPLY:Purchases made between 11/15/2011 and 12/28/2011 may be returned or exchanged through 01/15/2012 subject to a $35 restock fee for wire

This is the txt vzw customer service sent me when i asked because store said no. I showed store, the called vzw, vzw confirmed, store said they would honor it. Thinking they have to. Hope this helps.

I really can see a reason to buy the maxx when the only difference is a battery and battery door...we all know both of those will soon be available aftermarket hell since that made a 3300mah in tht form factor Im sure larger batteries will be coming down the pipe soon
