There is a script located in ~/system/bin/ entitled 'bugtogo.sh' that does a long of things to our device we do NOT want them doing. I higher suggest anyone running 215 or a ROM based off of 215 such as Arctic, Simplex (not sure if its stuck in there), use a Root file manager like Root Explorer to delete this script.

UPDATE: If you are a Bionic user check for this as well! Users report seeing it on 232 at the least. Also ANYONE on an ICS stock rom or 214 or even should check too.

The contents of the file can be found here:

If you do not want to be an unwilling bug tester for Motorola then remove this from your device. I am making sure any future releases of ROMs I am involved with will now not ship with this script. Please take care of yourselves!

Confirmed on SimplexROM. Thanks for the heads up!

EDIT: After deleting none of my texts are going through, rebooting and trying again.

EDIT 2: SMS works after a reboot, weird. Anyone else have this problem?

Sheet...

I've been on Simplex 1.2 for weeks and after removing this file, I lost data... Completely...

Tried phone info app as well as Mobile Networks/Network Mode.

Anybody else have this issue? I promise I have done nothing to my phone other than delete that file.

Tried deleting cache/dalv, nada... Had to reload the phone

Yes and I second what he said. Do NOT remove this file on SimplexROM! Data gets buggy and SMS stops working!

As for you mugsy a simple reflash of the ROM should fix you up, no need to wipe data. ROM script will wipe cache for you.

Deleted then rebooted and don't seem to have any problems with data or SMS. Also deleted the bug2go folder on SD card. Running Simplex 1.2, 211 build w/ 214 kernel.
